It is said that everyone, big or small, has a role to play in order to make the country a better place. As it seems, the principal officers of State Children’s Parliament and Girl Ambassadors released a communiqué after a two-day capacity building training, demanding that children be allowed to express their views on issues affecting them, including child labour, child marriage, healthcare, child abuse and limited access to education.

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari, in a recent statement by his spokesman, Femi Adesina, to celebrate the occasion of this year's children's day, said that his administration would continue to work hard to give every child access to education.

According to the president, Nigerian children deserve the best and a safe country, so that they can grow up to make friends and interact freely before they can emerge as successful leaders in different fields.

Some part of President Buhari's statement read thus:

“With our investments in infrastructure, youth development, education, information and communication technology, digital economy, culture, arts and entertainment in the last seven years, I believe we’re laying a solid foundation for a better quality of life for future generations in the country.
