According to Vanguard, "the Political quagmire in the Labour Party, LP took another dimension yesterday as former Deputy National Chairman of Labour Party, LP, Calistus Uju Okafor has described the Presidential ambition of former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi as still contentious."
Recall that Callistus Uju Okafor is currently challenging the constitutionality of the Abure-led national working committee of the party in the Court. Mr. Okafo insisted that is fighting for his rights and Justice amidst the claim that he is against the presidential ambition of Mr. Peter Obi contending that he had already taken the matter to the Court before Obi dumped the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in May.
As the saying goes, a house that divides against itself stands to fall, hence, the Labour Party must not fail to reconcile Mr. Okafor and Abure if they want to win the majority of the vote come 2023. Recall that merger talks with the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP which gives Obi and LP chances of winning the presidential election in 2023 collapsed, after the former governor of Kano State Senator Rabiu Masa Kwankwaso revealed that he was too qualified to be Mr. Peter Obi's running mate because of his experience and political strengthen.
