The Governor of Plateau State, Governor Simon Lalong has revealed the reaction of the President after the Governors under the All Progressive Congress presented five Southern candidates that are fit to contest for the APC presidential primaries later today. Recall that there have been widespread criticisms as regards the announcement made by the National Chairman of the party, Adamu Abdullahi that the Senate President, Senator Ahmad Lawan is the anointed candidate of the party.

In a bid to affirm their position that the ticket of the APC should go to the South, the Chairman of the Northern Governors' Forum, Governor Simon Lalong present a shortlist of five Aspirants to the president this morning. The names on the shortlist include former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, the Governor of Ekiti State, Governor Kayode Fayemi, the former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, and Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi.

Sharing the reaction of the President, Mr. Lalong revealed that the President okayed the list as he stated that he is okay with any of them as the flag-bearer of the party. However, Mr. Lalong urged any Presidential hopeful who isn't in support of the list to go ahead and participate in the presidential primaries.
