When blood flows at high pressure through the blood vessels of the brain, chest, and eyes, the force of the blood hits the walls of the blood vessels and causes them to stretch or swell, which puts some measure of strain on the nerve cells, and this results in a painful sensation or a feeling of pain.
According to WebMD, the nerve cells are responsible for sending signals to the brain when the blood vessels are stressed or pressed beyond proportion. The brain interprets this by making you feel pain top and seek urgent medical attention for a check-up and treatment before further damage is done to the blood vessels
In this article, I want to briefly discuss three places where you will feel pain when your blood pressure begins to rise.
1. The chest is among the places you can feel pain when blood with high blood pressure flows through the arteries around the chest region. Although other possible causes exist that can make you feel pain in your chest region, you should go for a medical check-up to know the main cause and receive adequate treatment if high blood pressure is found to be the cause of it.
2. The brain and its blood vessels can also be affected by high blood pressure, especially when the blood is moving with great force through the arteries that surround the brain. You can experience headaches due to the effect of stretched blood vessels on the nerves. So, when you notice that you frequently have headaches, you should consult your doctor for a medical examination.
3. Blood vessels are present in your eyes as they convey blood rich in nutrients and oxygen to the eyes. However, when the blood is transported under high pressure, you will start feeling pain in the eyes when the arteries swell or stretch due to the force of the blood against their walls. You should go to the hospital and have yourself examined medically to know the main cause and also receive medical treatment or eye medication.
