A man who goes by the name Emmerson Manjengwa, has been confined three years for killing his own wife following an argument about a roadrunner chicken.

Manjengwa was sentenced by High Court judge, Justice Priscilla Munangati- Manongwa, in the wake of arguing to a lesser accusation of punishable murder.

The adjudicator said that he had figured out that he didn' t plan to kill his wife when he attacked her using a switch
Manjengwa was accused of homicide after he killed his wife identified as Beauty Sando, in January 2020 at Plot 1, Savannah, Chakari, Chegutu.
As indicated by investigators, Manjengwa told the now deceased to give one Shepherd Tauro a chicken as a celebratory gift for his new marriage. Sando wouldn' t do as she was told and left the couple' s house.
The court heard that Manjengwa followed her, convincing her to return home but she rejected, which angered him. Manjengwa then smacked the deceased once on the face.
" Accused proceeded to pluck a switch from a nearby Mudondoro tree and struck the deceased on the face. The deceased fell down on her back and the accused struck her once more on the back and the deceased began convulsing. " Prosecutors said
Sando was hurried to a medical center before she was moved to Kadoma Hospital, where she was articulated dead upon appearance
