A ‘Chelsea transfer’ was discussed by the pair, with Boehly keen to understand the four-time Ballon d’Or winner's situation. The report goes on to state that although Ronaldo is content at United and willing to work under newly-appointed Erik ten Hag, he does have doubts about the club.

He is concerned by the Red Devils’ ‘lack of transfer activity’ so far this summer, which will certainly have been brought to light by how busy other ‘Big Six’ clubs have been so far. Manchester City recently signed one of football’s most exciting young talents in Erling Haaland, with a deal agreed for Leeds’ Kalvin Phillips as well – who has been a United transfer target for over a year.
